Heather will be presenting a three-hour Alexander Technique workshop for C.U.P.E. members on October 19th, 2012 from 1pm – 4pm. This is part of the Nanaimo school District 68 rofessional development day for support workers and teachers’ aides. The workshop will be held at John Barsby School.
The Alexander Technique is a simple and practical method of body awareness which is used to prevent injuries, relieve muscular pain, improve posture, and use less effort in daily activities. In this workshop we explore the possibility of lightness and freedom of movement, using the Alexander Technique to expand your awareness and change your habits. You can learn how to notice tightening, release muscle tension, re-establish better balance and move more efficiently. Whether you are hoping to recover from stress and injury or just searching for more ease and centeredness in your life, the Alexander Technique is a specific tool to help you.
