Bramwell Tovey Conductor
Ray Chen violin*
Beethoven, Violin Concerto in D Major*
Bruckner, Symphony No. 9 in D minor

Maestro Bramwell Tovey conducts the VSO debut of Bruckner’s final symphonic epic, left unfinished at the time of his death. Winner of the Queen Elizabeth and Yehudi Menuhin competitions, Ray Chen is one of the most compelling and exciting violinists in the world today – he performs what might be the greatest work ever written for violin and orchestra, Beethoven’s soaring, beautiful Violin Concerto.
